Every northern state you go to there are large communities of igbos ans yourubas that have been living there for decades but they never talk about this in the news and unfortunately those that haven't been to the north aside from abuja, have no idea.
We need more of this type of journalism in spreading light to misconceptions especially avout the north

Why? Is Nigeria not supposed to be one country? Every Ibo city has Hausa Quarters ( Ama Awusa) where Northern people live and thrive and are never targets of religious and ethnic riots. Aba even manages to have Mosque Road, Uthman Dan Fodio Road etc. for over hundred years. And the first elected Mayor of Enugu was a Fulani man Alhaji Umaru Altine etc. Some people have chosen to deploy violence as a political tool but this business of living in other ethnic domains cut both ways.

If you are one, then why are Ibos pointedly excluded from central power and their region denied meaningful investment e.g. in the railway sector which is even extended to Niger republic with foreign loans? Igbos in the north should have backup businesses in their homes in the East. You can invest in real estate as your backup plans.
I have an Igbo family friend who does onions business in Enugu. He has built several houses and has tenants. But you can never see Northerners buying lands and developing parts of the East where they live in. These are people who have done the same business much longer.
Parts of southern Nigeria dominated by Northerners are always the dirtiest. Meanwhile, those guys are making a lot of money from the South. You cannot say the same for Igbos living in the North. This simply tells you that the Northerners don't believe in your illusive One Nigeria.
Furthermore, you can keep deceiving yourselves, but we know that Northern Nigeria is the most volatile part of the country. Every little thing results in massive killings of the Igbos. Don't be a sacrificial lamb of Nigeria; dying for Nigeria is not worth it. The moment you become stable in the North, sell off your business and move. Your life is more important than money. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

Always Lagos this, Lagos that. No conversation can be had without losers like you ranting incoherently about Lagos. The same Lagos that bankrupted Nigeria on which the bulk of the oil revenue earned by the country was spent. Without oil money to repair and maintain it, even the so-called 4th mainland bridge would have fallen into disrepair already. So get a flipping life.

Your statement shows you are a deranged land thief and a crook, probably an oil thief too.
Yes Ibos do own their own land in the places you mentioned and there is not a thing you can do about it. If you feel so miffed about their claims, then go and evict them from those areas.

You only use falsehood to push unfounded cowardly comments. Come and invest in Igbo land. Nooo. But the Igbos who invest in your land are not cowards.
1993 June 12 riots opened the eyes of Yorubas to their fate anyday Igbos leave Lagos.
You guys should not be afraid to invest in Igbo land.

Mr man, you go school at all? If you did, then you would know that wherever you see a structure, there is a function, The "crown kings" you deride is there for a purpose. Its function becomes clearer when Kano descends into chaos and frenzied ethnic riots targeting Ibos as it often does. At that time, even Yorubas find the usefulness and security implications of "crown kings". For now, keep dissing what you do not understand.

You are a Yoruba man and Lagos does not belong to you. The idea of Lagos as no mans land was that of Alhaji Lateef Jakande, a former governor and Lagos indigene in who made the claim in his bid to make Lagos a home to everyone. So shush.

Aishat Abdullahi, yea right. Ibo will be Ibo, Hausa will be Hausa, Yoruba will be Yoruba. Prof. Chike Obi named his son Mustapha and Zik named his son Bamidele. Did any of that save Ibos from pogroms and genocide in 1966-70 and did that save Akaluka? No! So what's the flipping point? Just go and sit down and make person hear something, ok?
